HOW TO GROW SPIRITUALLY: Honor the Word of God: It is futile for me to pay lip service to the Bible while in reality I give my life in pursuit of the world’s substitutes like worldly pleasures and entertainment, humanistic philosophy, psychology, mysticism and personal experience. Love the Word of God: “ Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day.” (Psalm 119:97) Do I really give the Bible as much of my time and attention as I do other less important things? Read and Study the Word of God: Am I content with superficial reading and shallow Bible study,or even NO Bible study at all? “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15) Believe the Word of God: Too many people in the church seem to easily abandon the Word of God. I must be watchful not to follow the majority! Doubting the truths God has revealed in Scripture will definitely rob me of my joy and strength and may destroy my faith altogether. Obey the Word of God: God’s commands are not optional, they are obligatory! Obedience is ultimately the ONLY appropriate response to God’s Word! (1 Samuel 15:22) Shall I not allow the the Holy Spirit through the Word of God to open up to me the spiritual riches that are mine in Christ!
