HOW TO RECEIVE GOD’S GREATEST GIFT -- WITHOUT IT WE WILL BE ETERNALLY LOST! The lapse of time has wrought no change in Christ’s parting promise to send the Holy Spirit as His representative. It is not because of any restriction on the part of God that the riches of His grace do not flow earthward to men. If the fulfillment of the promise is not seen as it might be, it is because the promise is not appreciated as it should be. If all were willing, all would be filled with the Spirit. Acts of the Apostles, page 50 THE CAUSE OF DROUGHT, DARKNESS, DECLENSION (weakness) AND DEATH Wherever the need of the Holy Spirit is a matter little thought of, there is seen spiritual drought, spiritual darkness, spiritual declension and death. Whenever minor matters occupy the attention, the divine power which is necessary for the growth and prosperity of the church, and which would bring all other blessings in its train, is lacking, though offered in infinite plenitude Acts of the Apostles, page 50 - {AA 50.1} HUNGER, THIRST, TALK, PRAY AND PREACH ABOUT THIS GIFT! Since this is the means by which we are to receive power, why do we not hunger and thirst for the gift of the Spirit? Why do we not talk of it, pray for it, and preach concerning it? The Lord is more willing to give the Holy Spirit to those who serve Him than parents are to give good gifts to their children. For the daily baptism of the Spirit every worker should offer his petition to God. Companies of Christian workers should gather to ask for special help, for heavenly wisdom, that they may know how to plan and execute wisely. Especially should they pray that God will baptize,His chosen ambassadors in mission fields with a rich measure of His Spirit. The presence of the Spirit with God’s workers will give the proclamation of truth a power that not all the honor or glory of the world could give. {AA 50.2} ASK ALL THROUGH THE DAY EVEN AT MIDNIGHT (LUKE 11:5) WITH PERSISTENCE! THE CHURCH IS COMPOSED OF THE “WISE” SAVED AND THE “FOOLISH” LOST The difference between those among Gods Remnant (Rev. 12;17) who will be saved and those who will be lost is that the wise have the oil and the foolish in Gods Church have not the oil the Holy Spirit and they dont even realize their lack (Revelation 3:17) They believe they are Spiritually rich but are really poor, blind, and naked and know it not. This parable by Jesus points out that we need to ask and ask and ask each day (because of his persistence) for the Holy Spirit and that God will only give His Spirit on those who are seeking for bread to feed their neighbors (The Great Controversy has the Three Loaves of bread - Gods last Three warning messages within it -over 1,000 Bible verses - to teach others Gods last warning message of Rev. 14:6-12 which prepares the world for the two harvests that follow these three messages -- the harvest of the wise - the wheat (Rev 14:14-16) and the harvest of the foolish the crushed grapes and blood harvest (Revelation 14:17-20) THE ABC’s ON HOW TO RECEIVE GOD’S GREATEST GIFT, HIS HOLY SPIRIT 1. A = ASK Jesus (Based on His Promise) (with hunger and thirst) daily and throughout each day for the Gift of His Spirit. Open your Bible to the Promise. Repeat it back to God in prayer asking Him for His Holy Spirit just like He promised - Matthew 5:6; Luke 11:5-13 2. B = BELIEVE His promise -- as you pray Believe He is doing exactly what He promised to do - give you His Holy Spirit - If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him! 3. C = CLAIM His Promise - Act upon His promise BE ZEALOUS AND REPENT (Revelation 3:19) Find someone to pray with who is also hungry and thirsty for the Holy Spirit so they can take Gods Three Loaves of bread (The Three Angels Message) to every nation, tribe, tongue and people Rev. 14:6. (Every church should be broken into teams of 2 or 3 - this is the basis or foundation of Christian effort Why do not believers feel a deeper, more earnest concern for those who are out of Christ? Why do not two or three meet together and plead with God for the salvation of some special one, and then for still another? In our churches let companies be formed for service. Let different ones unite in labor as fishers of men. Let them seek to gather souls from the corruption of the world into the saving purity of Christ’s love. It contains the story of the past, the present, and the future. In its outline of the closing scenes of this earth’s history, it bears a powerful testimony in behalf of the truth. Oh, how few feel the worth of souls! How few are willing to sacrifice to bring souls to the knowledge of Christ! There is much talking, much professed love for perishing souls; but talk is cheap stuff. It is earnest Christian zeal that is wanted—a zeal that will be manifested by doing something. All must now work for themselves, and when they have Jesus in their hearts they will confess Him to others.No more could a soul who possesses Christ be hindered from confessing Him than could the waters of Niagara be stopped from flowing over the falls. EVERY BELIEVER IS TO SCATTER TRACTS, LEAFLETS, AND BOOKS Let every Seventh-day Adventist ask himself, “What can I do to proclaim the third angel’s message?” Christ came to this world to give this message to His servant to give to the churches. It is to be proclaimed to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people. How are we to give it? . . . WYATT ALLEN’S STORY OF HOW THE HOLY SPIRIT IS WORKING! . WYATT ALLEN WRITES : - Pastor Neil Dye, our district pastor, came to me one day and shared a quote from Ellen White: The Great Controversy should be very widely circulated. (Colporteur Ministry 127). As I listened to this quote I recalled what our General Conference president has said many times in calling for our church to distribute this book far and wide. I have been amazed at all those I know whos lives have been changed by this book... including mine! I cant think of one book, besides the Bible, of course, that has brought more people into the remnant church than this one book. . So, as the personal ministries leader, I worked on a plan to get as many Great Controversy books as I could because we decided that, as long as it took us, we would get the book on every doorstep in Jefferson City, Missouri. We called around and ordered 3 cases from 3 different publishers. We brought it to the membership and asked them which edition to share around their town. They chose the one from Remnant Publications with the chess pieces over the world. (remnantpublications/default/index.php/great-controversy-missionary-edition.html) They said the illustrations and the size were ideal. So we ordered half a pallet of them: 1620 copies of the book. We paid $1,436.20 total, which was only. This cost per book was about $.88 and included shipping that arrived in just a few days. The more you buy the more you save. . We have set aside the 3rd Sabbath of each month as distribution day. We purchased several thousand enrollment cards with the address area blank. We got a stamp from Staples (found a better deal on VistaPrint since then) that said: Amazing Facts, Free Bible Studies, and then our church address. We stamped each card and then each book, and then put a card in each book. We bought door hanger bags (see: catalog.fourstarplastics/item/specialty-bags/plastic-door-knob-hanger-bags-2/650714dkh?&plpver=10&origin=keyword&by=prod&filter=0 - I talked them down on their price by having them match another company). We put the books in the door hanger bags and as many as would stay after fellowship lunch gathered for prayer as we prepare to go out. . We used google maps to narrow down on a neighborhood and could even count the houses on the streets for better planning. (My wife colporteured for 5 years - so she coordinated it). Watch out for duplexes and apartments... they could through you off, so scope out the place first. Anyway, we did this month after month (except during an evangelistic campaign). We are almost ready to order some more books again. It is amazing how many books you can hang on doors and set on steps with you have a small army of workers to help (especially the children!). We have received only a couple enrollment cards back so far, but we know that success in this project is not measured in baptisms, but in faithfulness in getting the word out. This summer has been hot, but praise God, this month they want to go out twice! No sacrifice is too great to spread the word of God. What about you friends?
