HP HD 4310 The HP HD 4310 is a compact webcam that proves that big things come in small packages. It features full, 1080p HD resolution, a high-quality CMOS sensor and a frame rate of 30 frames per second. However, it has a few flaws, like its lack of digital zoom and facial recognition capabilities. Also, it uses a plastic lens, which makes the images grainier than other webcams we reviewed. If youre looking for an HD webcam with superb value, the HP HD 4310 is a top choice, and even with its few flaws, it surpasses most other Skype cameras. The HP HD 4310 is comparable to the best webcams in terms of image quality. The webcam supports full 1080p HD resolution at up to 30 frames per second. When recording, the video looks impressive and smooth, but when streaming, we did notice a few hiccups. You could adjust the video quality to remove this if it bothers you. The webcam also takes images at an interpolated 13 megapixels. The true image quality is 2.1 megapixels, but the webcam helps your computer accurately fill in the pixels all the way to the higher image resolution without creating any distortion. The HP HD 4310 is packed with extra features. If you are filming in lower light, it corrects the light automatically. It includes noise cancellation that removes all sounds besides your voice. It has face tracking, which it uses to keep you in focus. Rather than focusing on movement, it stays focused on your face, so you can be as animated as youd like in your videos. The HP HD 4310 lacks digital zoom, and it does not include any facial recognition software to making logging in faster and easier. Neither of these features is crucial, but it would be nice to have them. Our other major issue with this HD webcam is the fact that it uses a plastic lens, rather than glass. Plastic does not produce as clean an image as glass lenses.
