HUGE CONGRATS!! to 2007 Silver Prize winner Ginia Desmond, who is now in post-production on her indie feature LUCKY U RANCH, which she wrote and produced. The movie, which was filmed on location in Tucson, Arizona, is the full-length version of Ginias PAGE Award-winning short film GROWING PAINS. Ginia tells us a bit about how the film came together: Valentines Day 2013, I received an email from a director I respect who had read the script the previous November. All these months later, he writes to tell me he can’t get it out of his head, has read it several times, and asked if he could direct it if it ever found a producer. It gave me pause. I’ve never for a minute considered producing, but I have a lot of friends here with a lot of Hollywood experience. So I produced it. So, now I know what it’s like to actually make a movie… It’s a lot easier to write a script, no matter how hard that is. The appreciation I have for everyone who jumped on board to make this happen can never be expressed enough. Thanks so much for your encouragement - you were the first!
