HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER Applications are invited for the following key position with Aurukun Shire Council, which is located on West Cape York, 2 hours flight from Cairns. Aurukun, population 1,400, is a township with housing, community and business infrastructure being rapidly developed. You will be responsible for assisting the HR Manager in the efficient and effective delivery of all human resource management services to the Aurukun Shire Council. The position reports to the HR Manager who is located in Aurukun. A key aspect of the position is to ensure that all administrative and legislative requirements are met to ensure best practice in the management of the staff. Some key accountabilities: Assist the HR Manager by providing a varied range of administrative services. Assist with the delivery and content of ASC Inductions. Experience in Award interpretation Recruitment and selection of Aurukun Shire Council personnel Assist with the management of workers compensation claims The successful candidate must have:- Exceptional organisational skills Exceptional administrative skills Exceptional communication skills A sound knowledge of the Microsoft suite of programmes with an emphasis on excel.
