HUMP DAY HAIKU: By Tiffany Chilcott Finding my way home alone in New York City At four in the morning, things get pretty gritty Decided to yes and life Forsaken in this strife Went out drinking with a paper friend Now alone, on my own to fend Going around in circles having no idea where I am Ahhh Ha! Oh fortuitous phone With Google maps I think I found a train home The maker seems to be looking after me Jesus Christ I have to pee No bathroom on this train for many a mile If I wiz on this seat all I can do is smile Because at this hour I know I will blend Among the bums and vagrants Who, right now… seem to be better a friend At this moment I don’t even care By the grace of Alpha I’m headed back to my lair Without pulling out too many a short hair Mace in hand, If anyone “F*s” with me I will make their eyes feel like sand As the conductor announces my street I immediately jump to my feet I made it, un-violated Satiated…I did it! So, for anyone who has been in a big new city Without a clue, and drunk on many a brew Now one, when started out as two For you, I wrote this little Haiku: HAIKU TO TAKING THE LATE NIGHT TRAIN IN NEW YORK CITY IRON HORSE TO RIDE WHISPERING WILLOW SO SLOW WHAT IS THAT DAMN SMELL
