HUNDREDS DITCHED ODM FOR THE TNA PARTY Hundreds of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) supporters led by Ntaine Ole Ketuta yesterday joined The National Alliance ( TNA) party at a colourful ceremony held at Olobelibel village, Kajiado central sub county. They were warmly received by a high powered TNA brigade led by senator Peter ole Mositet, Kajiado county Assembly speaker Johnson ole Osoi, acting majority leader David ole Nkirrimpai, deputy speaker Sunkuyia, minority leader ole Ngossor aka Enteke, chief whip Onesmus Ngogoyo among other members of the county assembly. The truce, between Ntaati and Ketuta was brokered by speaker Osoi and endorsed by Muungano ( a loose coalition of former political rivals now allies) that included Ole Ntaati, Moses ole Nailole, Andrew ole Tima, Ole Bene and Ole Nkokua. The county leaders showered praises to Ntaati describing him as a dependable party operative and a selfless leader who has transformed Dalalekutuk political and development landscape even though he posses no formal education. But there was the obvious display of arrogance, raw power and narrow- minded political jingoism by some MCAs warning anyone who do not tore their line to forget even a pie of the county cake. Several speakers tore into the ODM party and its leadership in the county for not supporting Emily Kiparki, who run and lost in the last elections on an ODM ticket only to be given a lifeline by TNA. She was saved by the Assembly and was subsequently approved as one of the members of the powerful County Land Management Board after unsuccessful attempt at the County Secretary position. The push for a referendum by the CORD coalition was vehemently opposed by the county leaders terming it as ill timed, divisive and diversionary. And in an apparent show of how the Jubilee administration is, a TNA employee demostrated how individual members can register through their cellphones. Ironically, a big percentage of the audience did not do so because of the high illiteracy level.
