HURTING It hurt so bad and Im trying to move past Time they said would heal the wounds of old But just today the scabs have been ripped off And Im reeling again from the pain and shock Remembering like yesterday the lie that was Wishing for innocence forgotten Wishing for the time I still believed the lie My wounds raw and bleeding, the hurt that just wont die. How could you do this to me? And to think you did it with premeditation and intent! The thought is too painful to bear And I havent got tears enough for what you did to me Like a monster in a fairy tale You snatched my happiness from me Now Im broken and ashen Seeing that the only thing you were interested in Was in destroying me But I wont allow that to happen For you are not my source And although you took my happiness You cant take my joy For you are not my source. The wheel turns swiftly And reaping seeds sown will come quickly And though Im down today Tomorrow I will be on top. Shirley Kinnear
