HYDERABAD: The Executive Committee of Hyderabad Union of Journalists which met here on Monday evening under the chair of Junaid Khanzada has decided to organize daylong Sindh Journalists convention to formulate a comprehensive strategy for protection of working journalists of print and electronic media. The meeting decided to organize the convention followed two days long meeting of the Federal Executive Council of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) by in the last week of February 2014. The members of the executive committee decided to re-sit again on January 25, 2015 for formation of the organizing committee and the sub-committees for organizing the Sindh Journalists convention and hosting the meeting of Federal Executive Committee of PFUJ. The meeting also decided to convene general council meeting of HUJ to discussed the arrangements of the convention and FEC meeting so that both events could be organized in befitting and well discipline manner. The meeting expressed its deep grief and shock of the tragic deaths of journalists Shan Dhar in Larkana and three members technical and security staff of Express News in Karachi. The meeting expressed sympathies with the bereaved family members with pray for the rest of departed souls in eternal peace and urged the government to provide complete protection to media persons discharging professional responsibilities in the fields. The meeting also expressed its deep grief and sorrow on the sad demise of senior journalist Ustad Laiq Sindhi and nephew of Abdullah Sarohi Vice President HUJ and offered fateha for the rest of departed souls in eternal peace. Among others, the meeting was attended by Javed Channa, Abdul Karim Shaikh, Ashoke Sharma, Nasir Shaikh, Hamid Shaikh, Muhammad Hussain Khan, Hameed-ur-Rehman, Ali Naim, Ashiq Saand and Shakil Pathan.
