HYGIENE Research shows that 90% of the food we take are prepared using the bare hands. The big question is; how clean are such hands especially at the time of preparation? Lets take a case study of a pounded yam pounder. There is a general habit of lubricating the palms of your hands with a saliva when pounding. The negative possibilities are that the saliva might drop inside the mortar and/or same hands might be used to collect the yam from the mortar. So many others aside this hypothesis might happen. To be on the safer side always cook your food by yourself.
