Haaaaaaaaaa Izon! Greetings to my beloved brothers and sisters of izon who feel the passion of uplifting the Ijaws. I am Binebai Yerin Princewill, the IYC Chairman Iduwini Clan in Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State, Western zone. This is my first time i am writing a serious report on this our dynamic site. It is no longer a news that my Kingdom which is Iduwini precisely Burutu Community is like a time bomb waiting to explode. I am writing this on this platform because i believe an injustice in any part of Ijaw is deemed to be injustice in every part of Ijaw. Because we are all true Sons and Daughters of Ijaw and we are all in the struggle together. Now the main matter. The Delta State School of Marine Technology, Burutu which was established by an act of parliament in Delta State House of Assembly in 2006 could not really see the light of the day until 2011 during the Hon. Prince Sam Obi led interimme government of the state who gave approval for the kick starting of the School. Morals of the indigenes of Burutu Community, People of Oborotu, Iduwini, Burutu L. G. A, Delta State etc were all high as this School during its maiden matriculation in that same year. Governor Uduaghan who came back to occupy his seat as Governor of the state came to Burutu for the matric and finally kick start the School. The School is significant to the ijaws in several ways especially on the fact that since the creation of the state, despite the enormous politechnics, University and its sattelite Campuses within the State, Colleges of Educations, Schools of nursing etc non is been sited in Ijaw land except this one. But now, this school that have not stayed up to even three years now in Burutu is about to be moved out of our Ijaw Community to other places like Kwale and Gbaregolo in the guise of relocating most departments to those places and leaving behind only part of engineering. MMMMMMMMMM what an injustice to the Ijaws. I am so amazed and puzzled beyond words that for a neophyte school of such, instead of the Government, the School Management and its visionless team of governing council members to look for possible ways to accredit the school and its courses, how students can do their HND and how to build the school parmanent site in which no structure has been built to its completion is busy driven with their selfish ambition of eccentricity and becoming apostles of injustice. As the IYC chairman of Iduwini clan, i see this attempt of relocation as a grave insult to my people and the Ijaw nation in general. This act is tantamount to a pure and badly cooked injustice calculated to further deny the Ijaws from having tertiary education at their do step. This is unwelcome, condemnable and totally unacceptable as it is at variance with all the known theories of justice and the law of morality. The perceived perpetrated of this satanic ploy is the Delta State Governing Council or Board to the School, the management of the school and partly the state Government. My fellow Ijaw Youths! join me on this struggle to fight against this illegality that is about to take place in western zone. let us show them that IYC have a voice in our Country and indeed our Region. counting on your support while i also hope that our national President Engr. Eradiri and his gallant national executive will also see this publication and swing into action too.
