(Hab 1:2-4 NWT) “How long, O Jehovah, must I cry for help, but you do not hear? How long must I ask for help from violence, but you do not intervene? Why do you make me witness wrongdoing? And why do you tolerate oppression? Why are destruction and violence before me? And why do quarreling and conflict abound? So law is paralyzed, And justice is never carried out. For the wicked surround the righteous; That is why justice is perverted.” This is a lovely scripture, because it relates to how we often feel when a certain situation has been on going and you see no light at the end of the tunnel. We can grow weary, and become disheartened as we continue to live in difficult situations or with terrible illnesses. But sometimes we need to step outside of our own situation and see the bigger picture. Jehovahs ways are higher than ours, he knows whats best for us, he sees our heart and our yearnings. But do we ever stop to think perhaps what we are enduring is for our own good? that it is a testing, a refining, a lesson in patience? Are we going to give up hope because Jehovahs time doesnt fit in with our own expectations? Jehovah is a God of love, and from my experience we can wait a decade for an answer and even more, but he does give us the Holy Spirit to endure. But when we look back at our experience and what we had prayed for, we can see there was a valid reason as to why Jehovah didnt intervene at a time we expected him to. The bible says Jehovah disciplines those who he loves, we have no idea in what form that discipline will be, but being patient and consistent in prayer while drawing close to Jehovah will help us to endure what ever lays ahead. And never give up hope Jehovah will never forsake you he is close to all those who put their trust in him and the one he sent forth Jesus Christ.
