Had a SNAFU today I wanted to share. After a great night of stellar music, I awoke this morning, groggy, hungry, pants still on, crumpled up money in my pockets and strangely not a hint of hangover. I got a ride to pick my truck up from cpgs and started out on the days journey. I went to the appliance store and picked up parts for my dryer. I put the dryer back together, hooked it up and bingo, it works. Time to do some laundry. I had to go out and finish up some detail work on a house painting job so I check the laundry. Dryer was done but the washer was just getting to the rinse cycle. It will be fine, i say to myself. Load up the truck and off I go. I come home after about 3hrs of painting to a strange noise coming from the wash room. The discharge hose had uncoupled from the base of the washer. The washer was still in the rinse cycle and as it was trying to fill, water was gushing out the back. This left me with about 2 inches of water on the floor. ugh. I shut off the water, fixed the hose and cleaned up the mess. Bright side, I was lazy when I fixed that part of the house so the floor sloped away from the doorway, this kept all the water contained in the wash room. The floor and walls are tile and just a crawl space under that part so not much damage. Lesson learned, check you hoses every once in a while and it is said you should replace your filling hoses about every 5 years. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Then dump it down the drain, fill glass with ice and add drink of choice. Having friends over for dinner tonight and going to get DHUd tomorrow. Plus a trip to Swiss chalet. Life is good.
