Had a customer gave me an earfull a bit earlier... a proper earful because they didnt get their stock because of the strike. No matter how rational my explanation was... he wouldnt have it. So here are some tips for the sales guys out there. 1. Sometimes, no matter what you say, it wont be good enough to people who refuse to make any concessions. 2. Dont take the insults and shouting personally, its about business not your insecurities. 3. You dont have to take abuse from them. If they use profanity or raise their voice and you dont like it, you dont have to do the same, you will look just as stupid as them shouting back. You can request for them to refrain from abusive language or ask if you can call back at another time... or just tell them you refuse to help them if they refuse to speak in a respectable tone.
