Had a fabulous day on Arran yesterday. Got the horses moved to the new field smoothly and without incident. They were all fabulous getting in the trailers and travelling. Then got off the last ferry home and waked in to the car park where I had left my car for the day I had that inner NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.....as I approached my car and spotted headlights glowing dimly!!!! I drove down to the ferry in the dark and by the time I parked it was light and I didnt spot that my headlights were still on. My car is the THE most reliable car in the world so I hoped dearly that there might just be enough juice in the battery to turn the engine over. But with the headlights left on for just short of 12h.....the man from Del Monte said NO, not so much as a grunt out of the engine. So I asked a couple who were walking back to their car if they could give me a jump start. Thankfully I have jump leads in the car. They were lovely and agreed straight away. I hadnt seen what car they were headed for as it was pitch black and there are no lights in the car park (apart from a dull glow from my car headlights!) but as they pulled their car around I realised I must have asked the couple with the best car in the car park for the job....a 2014 Ford Ranger. If they had a wee punto or something like it would have struggled to start a 2L VW, so that was a result. My reliable wee car started instantly :-D A HUGE, MASSIVE, HUG WORTHY thank you to the couple who gave up their time for me without question and got me on the road home :-D There are still some loverly people out there who are prepared to help strangers :-D
