Had a front row seat this afternoon to hear Chesley Sully Sullenberger speak about Flight 1549 and his search for what really matters since the water landing in the Hudson River 5 years ago at the Design-Build Institute of America Conference in Dallas. Turns out, our National Board Chairman, Jim Whittaker, featured in the NatGeo Movie, Miracle on the Hudson River, was on that flight and introduced Sully - pretty emotional introduction, let alone the entire talk, for all 1,500 of us in the audience. We not only got to hear in the entire story told in graphic detail by Sully, they played the flight data recorder transcript in real time along with the airspeed and rate of descend. Amazing story told by a regular guy who had his life changed in 208 seconds. Got to meet him at a book signing later in the day.
