Had a great talk with a college student this weekend...when he graduates next year he will owe over $246,000 in student loans. His base beginning salary will be 86k a year. He told me upon graduation his plan is to hold off getting married, contiune to rent, drive cars 4-5 years old and tripling his monthly loan payments to kill them off faster. Thats a lot of financial wisdom for a 23 year old college kid...I didnt feel the need to give my opinion on his plan because...his plan is my opinion. I simply told him his future wife and children will be the recipients of his sekf controlled and careful plan. Kids...a good start helps you run the race right. Think purchases through...tell yourself no and understand debt is more than what you can afford a month.
