Had a mukka who is far from it describe himself as thick earlier tonight, set me off thinking about how circumstance of birth, education lottery, environment etc can give us mistaken ideas of the self that we can carry all our lives. I was thick at school (I later learned that this actually meant I asked the wrong questions) and really believed I was, leaving me threatened and resentful of intellectuals. Fortunately I met scumbag anarchists older than myself who let me know that my opinion was as valid as anyone elses, to not allow myself to be bullied intellectually any more than I would physically and that the education Id been conned into thinking was not for my class was easily within my scope given a little effort on my part, Im not saying Im particularly intelligent but I know Im not as stupid as I had been told. Life, lovely tasty life, with its rich gravy and occasional bone or bad flavour is a constant journey of learning - emotional, cerebral and physical. Take the ride kids
