Had a night from hell at a service station in the middle of the Austrian mountains between Salzburg and Vilach. This was only soothed by bumping into some beauties from Team Lifes A Hitch. With 99% of the cars coming through going in the opposite direction, we had no chance of getting a lift. The station restaurant closed and the temperature dropped to about -10 so our only option was to camp inside the shop. Except it turned out that the women working that night were sadistic psychopaths. Clearly unhappy with our presence, they proceeded to try to freeze us out opening both doors to the bitter cold and not allowing us to sit on the floor, even in the most discreet corners. Cue the weirdest night of our lives. James Wurr sleep walked 4 times. In the morning the car situation was much the same. Essentially, we were stranded. The only option was to call a cab onto the highway to take us into the nearest town. After a brief panic when we were told taxis wouldnt come to the u-bahn, eventually our knight in shining armour came (in the form of the worlds tiniest 6 seater taxi) and whisked us away. There was also a mysterious smoking car as we left which was a little concerning. Things are looking up now, will update you at our next location..
