Had a second attempt today; lamb chops, corn cobs, onion & spuds. We have just come off 24+ hours straight of rain so the lack of dry wood and gusty wind was an issue. Managed to get an hours cooking time before the heavens opened & we had to beat a hasty retreat. Not a bad result but another hour would have been nice. At this rate Ill be trying my fist damper in a 44 gallon drum in the back yard instead :)
