Had a super weekend in North Yorkshire staying at The Falcon. Friday and Saturday fished the Skirfare. Friday was tough in low clear water. Paul Mercer managed four wild brownies at last knockings as the rain brought the river up a foot and put a bit of colour in the river. Saturday the normally tricky Skirfare brownies were rising to olives and black gnats and we made hay. Managed eight beautiful fish the biggest a plump 16", Paul had another 7 brownies to 14" and Shaun had 3. Sunday Paul and I fished Malham Tarn with Stephen Rhodes at the oars. The Tarn was moody as usual. Paul managed one brownie of 1lb oz and missed 2 more, whilst I missed 2, all on the final drift of the day.
