Had a surprising and very much welcomed visit this afternoon. Jessie and her friend, Katie Lane, stopped in to see us and it was just great! They both looked just great and they were on their way swimming. Katie will be here until Thursday when she has to report to Camp Pendleton in California. There is something about Berne Union graduates that seems to bind them together, resulting in reunions that are truly felt. I think because the school is so small that most of the graduates went to school together for years and years, they feel a strong connection with one another. I fear that their school experience will not be available to upcoming kids. The economics of the situation will prevail...
