Had a wonderful Walking With You support group gathering this evening at SGM. I am often tired and weary before these simple gatherings, wondering what I could ever give of value in those wrung out moments. And, then...I hear each one telling story after beautiful story of grace, and healing, and peace, and brokenness, and grief, and hurts...and somehow, in the pouring out, I am filled. Filled by the amazing grace that, even if they walked into our sacred space with a limp, they are still standing, still breathing, still able to speak the stories of lives that were brief but so very valuable and meaningful. Stories that I carry within my mama-heart, in awe each time, that I am allowed to hear such sacred whispers. It confirms what Ive known since the first revelation was revealed in a whisper to my heart, What these mothers really need is simply a safe haven to speak the names of their babies and cry their tears with others who have walked in this place before them.
