Had a wonderful time on our trip back to the Land of the Buckeye. We celebrated my moms 80th birthday with an open house at our home church, Calvary Open Bible in Dayton. Our church family there was so helpful in making it a great day. So many good friends, many that we hadnt seen in decades, stopped by to say hello. Great to catch up. Also we got to spend a lot of time with my brothers and their families, something we dont get to do too often. Lots of laughter, good food, a dismal Reds game, a terrific day at the Air Force Museum, and many miles driven between north Dayton and south Dayton. :) The weather couldnt have been better, especially for a late July week. Since the rental car company was out of midsize cars, we were upgraded to a minivan. As it turned out, this was a real blessings since we were able to travel around together and it was much easier for mom to enter and exit. Flights were pretty uneventful, but connection time in Atlanta cut it a little too close for my comfort. But hat tip to Delta for getting our checked bags to our plane to OKC. Mostly, our trip was another welcome reminder to me of how thankful I am to have the mother I have. Her faithfulness during difficult times is still an inspiration to me. She has always cheered me on, both with words of encouragement and affirmation and with her prayers. The world is a better place with Marla Culham in it. Theres no way to accurately measure how she has enriched my own world. Thanks, mom, and Happy Birthday!!
