Had an all out battle with the school today over my granddaughters placement for school that starts on Monday - spoke with the very unprofessional vice principal - then spoke at length with the principal who told me the school board made the decision - then came home and spoke with the Executive Director of the Elementary Schools for the county who made it very clear that the principal had LIED right to my face and that the final decision rests with the principal of each school !!! So my daughter and I have a meeting with the principal at 8:05am Monday morning. Really a shame for her that she lied to me and made a completely uneducated decision for my granddaughter without ever even opening her file (which was very obvious from our talk today) - They have now messed the the wrong grandma !!! Good luck to her and I pray that she makes the right decision come Monday morning or I and the school board will be in front of their school with the media come Tuesday morning !!! And the idiot vice principal - when I told her that this was not the plan that we had agreed to last year and that her father had just passed away 2 weeks ago actually said to me in front of her - Thats not our problem They have again chosen the wrong grandma to piss off !!! Oh and all of this is because they are trying to promote her to the next grade after missing a year of school to clear her health issues at Shands Hospital. There was a clear plan in place for her to repeat the 1st grade and be tested for gifted and she was told all of this at the end of last year. Amazing little detail - NOT 1 single child in the entire school was held back this past year ??? Really - Someone is looking to get their numbers up by pushing kids through when they are not ready !
