Had an amazing day at Phelps Luck ES this AM launching our telehealth software, Careclix with U.S. Senator Barbara A. Mikulski Ken Ulman, Courtney Watson - Howard County, Mary Kay Sigaty, Dr. Renee Foose, Dr. Maura Rossman as well as other school and community advocates. This innovative telemedicine allows our students feeling ill to be quickly examined by a UMD physician while their parent/guardian observe via web-based software. As a father with two daughters in our public school system and as a husband whose wife was once a school nurse, I deeply respect the importance of health and wellness in our schools. Research shows that school based wellness centers improve access to health care, improve student grades, enhances overall performance while minimizing disruption to our classrooms, and helps to prevent lost wages. This is just one example of what were able to imagine and accomplish through the use of our Broadband network. Thank you to all those who helped make this dream a reality!
