Had an amazing day today getting out and taking portraits of people. I can honestly say it was daunting, a little nerve wracking and it totally made my year so far. I met so many amazing people who really just opened up to me and let me photograph them. I was very trepidatious about starting a page that copied the famous Humans of New York format of photo blogging. I worried about the authenticity of copying a format and how it would be perceived by my colleagues and the general photo community. I decided that I would give it a go and start a page and set the goal to 300 portraits to see how it would go. If the page sucked Id close it down and that would be that - a silly idea. So here we go - a project of stories and experiences of the people I meet that hopefully will help me become a better photographer, listener and human being.
