Had an awesome experience joining fellow Kansas Cityans in a march for something I truly believe in and thats crying out for justice and a call to stop the violence in our communities and amongst ourselves as well as violence against us. I have said recently on several occasions that it starts from within. If we can work on our selves, others will hear our cry...its my hope that Facebook friends and family members will join us in the next march next week. I also hope more churches would get involved. We should not be waiting on Bill Cosby or someone famous to urge us on. Enough has happened in our communities for us to do it ourselves. Even though the turnout was not what I expected to see. It was amazing to see people from all walks of life show up and show support for these families. I have to admit though I was somewhat disappointed that more or a slew of the many church organizations of which there are hundreds if not thousands are in the Kansas City metropolitan area. It was not inconvenient. A day of service could have been sacrificed even if it had been to take a stand against this is long overdue. I didnt agree with the idea of capital punishment for those responsible because not even God himself in the beginning did not enforce capital punishment against Cain who slew his brother according to the bible but yet he was exiled and no man was supposed to bring him harm because God is judge, jury and executioner. Thats why we have the penal system. Of which still needs to be fixed.... Sadly.... But thats what its for.
