Had an interesting drive into work this morning. The fog was really bad. Driving up Jeff Davis (rt 1/301) I came upon this car that was going below the speed limit. So I put my blinker on and moved to the left lane. As I went past him I notice out of the corner of my eye brake lights went on and bam! there are 2 deer traveling from the right to the left. My speed was 45 as posted, slammed brakes and I hit the second one either in the hind area or caught its tail, loud loud thud. Looked in my side mirror and it continued. Pulled into 7/11 no apparent vehicle damage, shorts clean haha. I think I did 20 mph up the interstate to work. 2 seconds earlier and it might have been curtains for that deer. Humbling experience to say the least. Whooo! close call.
