Had an outstanding day with my family and friends at the PNWORCA race last Saturday on Lake Union ! It was my first 2-person outrigger canoe race with my 8 year old daughter Linae. She absolutely powered through the 6.5 mile flat water course! She insisted on counting strokes out loud the entire race (to keep dad in sync of course ☺ ). ….you will notice she continued to count strokes even while yawning around mile 5 …..I suggested that she might want to take a break a couple of times and she completely turned me down (even though I probably could have used one :-/ …. So proud of her, she was showing great sportsmanship towards other paddlers and really pushing through until the finish… Great job Linae! A big THANK YOU goes out to her sister Luciana, mom Heather and the rest of Team 206 for all of your support! Great seeing every one!
