Had my first appointment in the living kidney donor clinic today at St James hospital. Very very in depth meeting. met the surgeon who is going to do the operation on Mia when she has her transplant. And the doctor who will look after me! Had a thorough medical (I wish I had known previously I had the most unflattering underwear on and didnt shave my legs) I wont be able to pick my babies up for 4 months or drive for at least 4 weeks. And need warfarin injections afterwards to prevent blood clots! Hopefully they will be able to do it keyhole so I will have 4 holes and a 8cm incision where they pull my kidney out. Scary! But Gunna be so so worth it!
