Had one of my best day hikes ever up to Hidden Lake Lookout on Tuesday. Fresh snow and very cold, clear air made for some amazing views of the North Cascades. Traction is required, as the trail is icy at the bottom and snow-covered from the swtichbacks up. There is no avalanche danger yet, but route-finding could be an issue as more snow falls. The final scramble to the lookout requires an adrenaline-inducing traverse across a snowy ledge, but is still very doable. Go out and get it, Hidden Lake Lookout is prime now!
