Had one of those Julia Sugarbaker moments tonight. After dinner, - TopicsExpress

Had one of those Julia Sugarbaker moments tonight. After dinner, Henri and I stopped in the @OfficeDepot on the East side. Henri needed to pick up some envelopes and I was looking for a toner cartridge for my printer. We were probably mulling around for a good 20 minutes and another customer came in needing to get some copies made. The store was not busy and I think there may have been one other customer in the store at the time. It was obvious that the three employees I could see were not busy and since I was close the copy shop portion of the store, I could see that not a single thing was going on in that area. When this guy came in he wanted to order 2000 copies, but needed to only get 500 then and would pick the rest up later. They told him they wouldnt print anything for him, that he should go across the street to FedEx Kinkos or to the west side Office Depot store. It wasnt a complicate print job, just a one-sided copy on regular paper, there shouldnt be any reason a place that advertises itself as a copy center shouldnt be able to accommodate such an order, especially with 2 hours left being open. The guy was practically begging for them to print it. And then I piped in. A few months ago, I had needed some prints made and had placed my order online through officedepot there was plenty of time for my order to have been finished by the time I went to pick it up. But it wasnt and they gave me all sorts of excuses on how busy they were etc, etc, BS. My order was for 10 pages, it wasnt complicated at all and the time they spent saying they couldnt do it, it could have been done. Eventually, they relented and it took all of 1 minute and a half to print out. So when I saw this guy, getting the same run around I had gotten, I spoke up. In pure Julia Sugarbaker fashion, point blank and blunt. There is no excuse for a business that is supposed to be in that business from being able to complete simple orders when a customer comes in. Poor Henri was trying to check out, while I went on my tirade, and he probably wanted to crawl under the counter. But it is inexcusable that repeatedly this location fails to provide the services they advertise, much less even try and send customers to a different store across the street or other side of town. It probably would have taken 20-30 minutes max to print out 500 copies. But they were just lazy and didnt want to do it. Out in the parking lot, I spoke to the guy who was turned away, and told him that similar things had happened to me twice at this store and I just never would choose to have anything printed there again. So my advice is if you ever need anything printed or copy NEVER go to the Evansville East Office Depot. #OfficeDepot #Evansville #Customer #Service #Failures
