Had to pick up 5 cows and 3 calves this afternoon at 3:30 and be back by 5pm... Simple right? WRONG! The cows were 30 minutes from the sale barn and the calves were an additional 15 minutes from the cows... *45 minutes from the barn* While trying to load the cows one got loose and it took us 15 minutes to catch her. Then while trying to make up time I missed my turn to get the calves. Ended up turning a 20ft trailer attached to a F350 1 ton flatbed in a tiny driveway! I get 5 minutes from the place where the calves were and my boss calls and asks where I am because it is now 4:50pm. I told him I was 45 minutes out. When I got back to the sale barn it was 5:30pm and the boss asked what happened when I told him his reaction was "Did you get everything caught?" When I said yes and that I had to drive 60-65mph to get back his simple reaction was "Is the truck OK?!" Needless to say my day working the auction/trucking cattle was quite interesting and very stressful! *Bam
