Had to put my 1986 XV1100 in the shop a few weeks ago due to a noise in the bottom end. Ok, so it seems at some point in her life some water has got inside the gearbox causing some corrosion resulting in the loss of the hardening on one of the main bearings, rollers. Also found a fair score in the rear cylinder and cracked piston and of course rings not real good. So its bore. pistons, rings, pins and clips, also will do the cam chains and conrod shells, inlet manifolds as well as they are warped. We Will Ride Again.
