Hahaha its hilarious that some Christians think these are the questions we cant answer. Post your answers in the comments! 1. I answered that question in a 17 minute long video on my Youtube, but the short answer is that I couldnt find any evidence any gods existed. 2. Nothing happens when we die. Youre dead. Its like asking what happens before youre alive - nothing. 3. What if Im wrong? What if YOURE wrong, and you end up in Muslim hell? Pascals Wager has been refuted so many times, Im amazed they still use it. 4. Where do you get morality without God? Im constantly a little worried about people who admit that without their religion, theyd be out murdering and raping people. I have empathy, therefore I have morality. 5. Well, yeah, we can do whatever we want. You COULD go out and murder someone (although youd probably end up in jail or receiving the death penalty yourself, depending on the severity of your crime). Sometimes the bad guy never gets caught and sometimes your good deeds go unrewarded. This is like, kindergarten ethics. If you only do good because youre expecting a reward after you die, can it really be called good? Its certainly not selfless. 6. How does your life have any meaning without GAWD?! I love this question because my life is absolutely filled to the brim with meaning. And the most wonderful thing about it is that I get to decide what is meaningful to me. I dont depend on a 2,000 year old book for my values. 7. Where did the universe come from? From the Big Bang. We dont have all the answers yet and Im content with that. Part of the fun of science is discovering. 8. What about miracles? What about people who have seen angels or Jesus? Well, anecdotes arent evidence. Our brains are very complex but also easily fooled. We look for faces and patterns in everything, sometimes even seeing things that arent actually there. That shadow looks a lot like a creepy face staring at you in the dark... until you turn on the light. As far as miracles go, youd have to show me a specific example of a miracle first and wed go from there. If they mean things like, Her cancer is gone, its a miracle! or The plane crashed but one person survived, its a miracle! Then nah. I wouldnt call those things miracles. If you can show me an amputee who miraculously regrew a limb, we might have a valid miracle there. Also keep in mind, Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. - Arthur C. Clarke 9. Whats your view of Dawkins, Hitchens, and Harris? I have no idea why this question is relevant. I enjoy their books and disagree with all of them on certain points (Dawkins is wrong about feminism, Hitchens was pro life, Harris is pro Israel). Its possible to agree with someones books about atheism or evolution and disagree with them on other subjects. 10. Why does every society have a religion? Because, as I stated before, our brains want to see patterns and human influence in everything. We had no explanation for things like natural disasters or disease at one time, and we invented explanations that made sense in our more primitive minds. The world was a bigger, scarier place thousands of years ago, and the idea of a God who might take mercy on us (even one who demanded blood sacrifices or killed off the entire species multiple times) might have been very comforting. The existence of religion does not prove any truth to religions claims.
