Hai guys.! I know how passionate you all are about film making. Here is a very useful exercise for you. I believe discussions can improve our understanding of screen writing. In this exercise, there is not much effort to be put. We would describe our favorite filmy characters here. Not by writing some unending paragraphs. But by using simple, apt words. I will do it for 2 characters here: Kareena Kapoor as Geetha Dhilon in Jab We Met : She is highly talkative, very romantic and quite excited. She would commit suicide if she is to be mute for even 10 minutes. If you remove these 3 features from her characterization, I bet her character becomes very ordinary and boring. Its because the writer took an innocent girl-next-to door and applied these 3 features to her which resulted the birth of this memorable character. Shahid Kapoor as Aditya Kashyap is exactly the reciprocal to her. Very dull, very quiet, suffering from failure and emptiness. When these two opposite polls meet on a train on the opposite seats a fantastic film called Jab We Met happens. Deepika Padukone as Shanthi in Om Shanthi Om: She is a dreamy superstar who is an intelligent, gentle, generous, down to earth person. But deep down she lacks love in her life. She has been missing it since she became a star due to the selfish relations in the film industry. I can say that she is not quite happy with her life. She is balancing it with Arjun Ram Pals love and Sharukhs admiration to her. So thats it guys.. These are my standards of understanding a character. We want to know how you perceive your favorite characters. You got an idea? Trust me. This is going to be very exciting. We will have very useful discussions and insights here.
