Halal Tourism is one of the key components of the Halal Economy in New Zealand. Three major districts - Auckland District, Rotorua District, and Queens Town represent major tourism hubs of New Zealand! Rotorua District has taken a lead to initiate Halal Tourism in New Zealand. Pakistan New Zealand Chamber has been having strategic talks with the Rotorua District Council since early 2012. As a result, the Chamber and Rotorua District Council are together working on a business case study to get the Halal Tourism off the ground. Both entities are meeting on 28 August 2013 in Auckland to devise a clear pathway as to how Halal Tourism may be started in Rotorua District.
