Halifax County Gang Hotline Implemented Sheriff Wes Tripp is announcing the implementation of the counties first “Gang Hotline”. Since the initial gang summit in October, the Sheriff’s Office has initiated strategies that will be coordinated with all other local, state and federal agencies. A county wide gang taskforce has been established with participation of Sheriff Tripp , Chief Hasty (Roanoke Rapids), Chief Macon (Weldon), Chief Bowen (Littleton), Chief Williams (Scotland Neck), and Chief Tillery (Enfield). The leadership of each agency has dedicated resources to have mutual information collection, establish a dissemination protocol, and have coordinated efforts in prosecutions. The Sheriff’s Office has also coordinated with the United States Attorney’s Office Eastern District in order to prosecute federal law violators in the Safe Neighborhoods program.
