Hallam Univesity film makers host special screening event Aspiring film-makers in Sheffield have celebrated the end of weeks of ‘problematic’ work with a special screening. Final year film and media production students at Sheffield Hallam University organised the screening event, called AV14, to celebrate the end of their work this semester. The group have had a busy few months writing, recording and editing their own short films, comedies and documentaries based on problems they may come across when making their final pieces of work. And to say thank you to everyone who helped them achieve their finished work – actors, fellow students and contributors – they invited them to the Showroom Workstation, on Paternoster Row, in the city centre. Student Daryl Lotysz, aged 24, who lives near Bramall Lane, Highfield, said: “There were a variety of different films, which were all less than 10 minutes long. “There were some documentaries, dramas, comedies and a couple of experimental films as well two installations. “During our final year. we have to make two films. “When we came back in September we had to come up with an idea for a film. “The tutors looked at our ideas and found potential problems we may come across filling our brief. “This semester [...] sheffieldinnews/hallam-univesity-film-makers-host-special-screening-event-2/
