Halleluya Here is the ANSWER TO d question Why is it that ppl wit same voice range singing note at same pitch same song stil sound differently. ANSWER TIMBRE Sound(sound wave)are characterized by pitch,amplitude,frequency,timber,envelope. But this aspect TIMBRE determines the sound quality,sound texture,sound identity. Timber describe those characteristics of sound WHICH ALLOWS D EARS TO DISTINGUISH SOUND OF SAME PITCH & SAME AMPLITUDE(Loudness level). Timbre is mainly characterize by combination of fundamental frequency and harmonic frequency or overtones. Fundamental frequency of a sound is d pure tone of the sound.while harmonics or overtones creates other higher pitches on the pure tone. This combinations varies in different sound, be it musical or not including human voices. The relative volume of tones of these frequencies creates the tonal character of the specific sound. Timbre is the reason why we can distinguish different instruments playing same note at same pitch wil sound differently . Timber creates the tonal character of all instruments and human voices. In addition to timbre the acoustic space and the material which the instruments are made up responsible for the tone quality(timbre)of d instrument. More so in human voice the material is not required but its the voice FORMANT FORMANT is determined buy the size and shape of the nasal,oral and vocal tracts Formant region a region of overtones in timbre. The dormant of individual voice is differ due to d use of the formant determinants and dats is y u can distinguish one voice of a person from the other even if they sing same note at same pitch and same voice.
