Halloween Disco Hi everyone Due to the phenomenal demand for Halloween Disco tickets last year we tried to look for a larger venue to accommodate more children as the Social Club holds 120 and this was clearly not big enough. We decided on Blackburn Hall as this holds double what the Social Club holds and is still local for everyone. This will create much more work for the PTA volunteers as we will have to source the drinks and run our own bar along with serving food and overseeing the event, particularly with regards to health and safety. We hoped the larger venue would be able to accommodate everyone who wanted to come but today we sold approximately 250 tickets in a matter of minutes which is more than double what was sold last year. Im sure even Take That couldnt compete with that! We have already been inundated with requests for more tickets and are in the process of looking again at Blackburn Hall to see if we can increase the numbers but our main concern is for the safety of the children during the evening and also the small number of volunteers who will be expected to run an event this size as we are all working parents with our own children who want to try and enjoy the disco too! We need to carry out a full risk assessment of having larger numbers there and also discuss with Blackburn Hall fire regulations etc. We are sorry if you have been unable to buy tickets. Any system we used to sell the tickets could have potentially resulted in some people not being able to buy tickets but we never, ever thought it would be this popular. **** With this in mind if you have bought tickets for grandparents, friends (with no children at Carlton school) or other children who do not go to Carlton school (unless they are siblings) please can you let us know asap as we will need to take those tickets back so they can be sold to children who go to Carlton school. It is only fair for there to be a maximum of 2 parents / carers with each family to allow other people to attend. If there happened to be tickets left over then they could be opened up to grandparents etc. Our main priority is for as many children from Carlton school and direct parents / carers to attend this disco. Also if you at any time decide you will not be attending please let us know so we can sell your tickets on as it will be unfair for there to be lower numbers on the evening when we have people who wanted tickets. Please send us a private facebook message or email carltonprimarypta@googlemail to arrange returning the tickets **** Also please ensure you keep your tickets safe as lost tickets will not be replaced and you will have to bring your tickets to the disco on the evening as you enter through the main doors.
