Hamas signs paper calling on Abbas to join ICC 23/08/2014 #GAZA,(PIC)-- Member of Hamas political bureau Ezzat al-Resheq said his movement has signed a paper calling on PA chairman Mahmud Abbas to join the International Criminal Court (ICC) in order to prosecute Israeli war criminals. Early Saturday, senior Hamas official Moussa Abu Marzouk wrote on his Facebook page that “Hamas has signed the paper which Abbas demanded the Palestinian factions to approve before he could sign the Rome Statute which will allow Palestine to join the International Criminal Court. Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas has earlier asked Palestinian factions to sign a national paper allowing him to sign the Rome Statute and take Israel to the International Criminal Court. In another context, senior Hamas official Mahmoud Al-Zahhar confirmed that his movement would not accept any international resolutions that seek to disarm Palestinian resistance. Zahar wrote in a statement that “Hamas will not accept any international resolutions that try to disarm the resistance and fail to lift the blockade fully.” A number of European countries have introduced a new draft resolution in the UN Security Council calling for a sustainable ceasefire in Gaza and lifting Israeli siege.
