Handover of computers and Child Rights and Policing booklets Kabul, July 2014. #EUPOL Gender and Human Rights Mentor/Advisor Mika Noori handed over 2,800 booklets on Child Rights and Policing along with two computers, projectors and IT equipment as part of the Child Rights and Policing project to BG Hekmat Shahi Rasooli, Head of Human Rights, Women Rights and Children Affairs General Directorate at the Afghan Ministry of Interior (#MoI). EUPOL Gender and Human Rights Unit will hand over 100,000 booklets and four videos highlighting the important role of the police in preventing harmful practices such as systematic child abuse, trafficking and child labor to the #Afghan National Police (#ANP). The booklets and the videos were developed as educational tools for workshops and train the trainer courses at MoI for ANP officers. “These booklets and videos will help the Gender and Human Rights Unit in terms of Child Rights and Policing and the members of this directorate will use them in their training courses and workshops as reference as well as part of train the trainers courses”, says Mika Noori. So far more than 20,000 booklets and as many as 100 videos have been distributed in as many as 15 provinces of Afghanistan, and hopefully very soon the distribution will cover all provinces of #Afghanistan.
