Hanging on my judges and wanting to quit an Open WOD that I - TopicsExpress

Hanging on my judges and wanting to quit an Open WOD that I trained hard for all year long are not part of the Julie I know, but after back to back illnesses & battling extreme fatigue due to a four week long stomach flu, I did just that. 😔 I have not been to work out in many weeks other than the Open WODs, and I have definitely lost my strength & stamina, but thanks to awesome coaches like Brian Palma who will take the time to pray with me when I need it the most, I made it through 14.5. It was not the performance I had hoped for, but I made it through by Gods grace. Its been a challenging 5 weeks, but Ive learned a lot. You can train hard and be mentally, spiritually & physically prepared for game day, but there will always be things beyond your control. (I definitely never planned on getting sick & my body failing me.). Managing your fears & emotions is crucial. My fight was strong, but my body was weak, and that messed with my mind! That can definitely crush your spirit unless you have great people surrounding you! Thank you to our Elevate coaches & family! The energy & support surrounding the Open has been spectacular & heart-warming! So proud to be part of such a special community!
