Hank is a survivor! This handsome boy was found outside under some shrubs in January and taken to Antrim County Animal Control before he came to AC PAW. He was in very rough shape and extremely malnourished. He was nothing but skin and bones with no muscle on him at all. He was scratched along his back and legs, and very scared of everything and everyone. His background is uncertain, but from the looks of him he wasnt very well taken care of in his previous life. He is believed to be around 4 or 5 years old. He has never been aggressive toward anyone or other animals, he was just scared and skittish. After spending months in his foster home, Hank has gained more trust with his surroundings and people. He is great around kids and other animals! His foster mom says he is all hound from the grunting and snoring to his need to sniff and pull as he is walked. His bark alone says, Im a hound! Hank is a very, very sweet dog who has been through so much. He still needs some additional potty training, because he hasnt quite learned to signal you when he needs to go outside. This makes us believe he was probably an outdoor dog in his previous life and never had proper training. His foster mom has had him on a schedule as well as kennel-training. He feels very secure in his kennel. Hank will need to find a forever home with a family who understands him and has the time, patience, and love to devote to him. He will need a large fenced-in yard where he can be a hound and get his proper exercise. He would make a wonderful family dog for the right family!
