Hannah Duncan, a CCHS Alumni, lost her father yesterday. Please remember her and her family in your prayers. Howard W. Duncan Funeral services for SSG Howard W. Duncan, 55, of Murray, Ky., was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2013, at Imes-Miller Funeral Home, with Troy Deweese and Phillip Bazzell officiating. Visitation was from 5-9 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013, at the funeral home. Mr. Duncan died Thursday, July 25, 2013, at his home. He was born on July 21, 1958, in Calloway County. He was a member of Ledbetter Baptist Church and owner and operator of H&S Truck Service. He was also CCDW Instructor and a member of the American Legion, VFW, AMVETS and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was an Inter Prentice Mason at Temple Hill Lodge #276. He entered the Kentucky National Guard on Feb. 11, 1991. He was deployed to North Carolina in 1999 after Hurricane Floyd, to Guantanamo Bay for Operation Enduring Freedom in 2002, to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and to Iraq in 2007 for Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was preceded in death by his daughter Emily Rose Barnett; his father, Charles Duncan; and his step-mother, Doris Duncan. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Duncan, of Murray; three daughters, Missy Schmeing and husband, Adam, of Knoxville, Tenn., Sara Keyes and husband, Jesse, of Murray, and Hannah Duncan, of Murray; mother, Martha Hamilton Wilson, of Murray; four brothers, Marty Duncan and wife, Lori, of Murray, Chris Duncan and wife, Melanie, of Dexter, Brad Cothran and wife, Elizabeth, of Sharp, and Zach Cothran and wife, Tammy, of Hardin; sister, Cindy Duncan, of Dexter; and a granddaughter, Kinsley Rose Keyes.
