Hannah Pettinger from NJUK Beautiful Hair, Chesterfield salon and Ollie Vines from Heaven Hair, Salisbury – the two young hairdressers who jointly won World Hair’s Step Up & Shine Scholarship for 2014 – have enjoyed a fabulous action packed day with Michelle Griffin. The pair enjoyed an intensive day devoted to extensions, with Michelle taking them through four different extension systems explaining the benefits and suitability of each one whilst giving them an overall view of the extension market Following a power point presentation, Michelle spent time with the duo covering why extensions are used, where they should be placed and how to promote the service in the salon whilst mentoring Hannah and Ollie working on blockheads. Michelle Griffin speaking of the day commented: “Both Hannah and Olllie are a delight to teach, they are both relatively new to the industry and are like really excited to learn every aspect.” Ollie commented: “Going into the course with very little knowledge on hair extensions, I feel I now have a strong understanding of them. I never knew how effective and creative hair extensions could be, not only for adding length and hair density but also for creating volume, texture and adding different tones to the hair.” Hannah added: “We learned how to apply taped weft, pre-bonded, micro-ring and hot bond hair extensions and learned so much about both aftercare and how to blend hair extensions using both a razor and point cutting techniques. It was an amazing day.”
