Hanoi at a glimpse Hanoi’s history dates back more than 1000 years was inhabited from the Neolithic period to 200BC, named as Dai La citadel. In 1010, Ly (Cong Uan) Emperor had moved to Dai La citadel and set up this land become the capital of the country. Ly Emperor named it is Thang Long Capital (City of Soaring Dragon). Following 1000 years history, Thang Long Capital has been changed to many names as Dong Do, Đông Quan, Dong Kinh, Bac Thanh, Thang Long and Hanoi, the latest name from 1831 by Emperor Minh Mang (Nguyen dynasty). Located in Red river’s bend, Hanoi City has been become the most convenience place for trading, living so that the local can develop their religions and cultures for a thousand years even though passing many foreign enemy’s damages. Now a day, Hanoi City is the Capital of Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, the second largest city in the world, is a fascinating blend of East and West in architecture and being the most wonder by food culture and exploring relic history in memories.
