Happening: We are at Lubigi Sewerage treatment interacting with the community.Lubigi residents had a chance to tour and have a meal in a Nuisance Free Environment Lubigi Sewerage treatment plant was commissioned early this year by H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Treatment plant has helped attain MDGS on water and sanitation in Uganda . Lubigi and the surrounding areas used to rely on pit latrines which would fill up leading to unhygienic environment . Lubigi has helped promote Sanitation & Hygiene in areas of Mulago, Nansana, Namungoona, Kasubi, Kalerwe, Makerere, Bwaise and the surrounding areas. General Manager Kampala Water Eng.Andrew Sekayizzi has encouraged residents to come and learn fecal sludge harvesting methods at Lubigi to promote health .We are putting up more sewerage treatment plants in Nalukolongo & Bugolobi to promote Sanitation and health . Lubigi Sewerage treatment plant has capacity to treat 5000 cubic meters of waste water per day. Managing Director Dr.Silver Mugisha interacted with staff and community of Lubigi.Its a fun filled day at Lubigi Sewerage treatment plant.
